Just click on the Snowball link and line up your target with the target ring that will appear where ever you place your mouse, click to fire your snowball.

Penguin Actions
As you win and buy more and more outfits and objects from Club Penguin, will will learn that many of them have their own very special actions. Below I have put on a heaps of my different outfits and objects, pressed the dance function and discovered some really kewl actions. My favourite is the clown.

Just remember when you want to make the action you have to ‘usually’ wear ONLY one outfit or object. For example if you want to make an ice cream, you have to take of all your other outfits and only wear the blue apron.  To get the clown to work you have to wear the full outfit, this includes the hair, shoes and suit. Sometimes you can wear something else, I think you can still kick the soccer ball when you also wear the soccer outfit.

Penguin Emotions at Club Penguin.

Club Penguin Emotions
Emotions are a really quick, easy and funny way to talk to penguins. Emotions are also known as Emotes and are small icons displaying an emotion, idea or action. At Club Penguin you will find a link to common emotions on the smiley face icon in the Chat bar at the bottom of your screen.

When you click on the Smiley face, emotions link, you will see a 21 common emotions. From the top they are; Laughing face, Smiling face, Coffee cup, Straight face, Frown face, Game controller, Surprise face, cheeky tongue poker, Popcorn, Wink, Sick, Pizza, Angry face, Sad, Icecream, Worried/Crooked face, Birthday cake, Lucky 4-leaf clover, Love Heart, Light/Idea, and the Flower.

Club Penguin Mail and Postcards.

Club Penguin Mail
Club Penguin has its very own Mail Service. You can Send, Receive, View and Save postcards, to and from all your Penguin Buddies and every now and then you will get postcards from Club Penguin. You can even send Post cards to Penguin friends when they are not online.

* Send mail to buddies (even when they’re not online!)

To use Club Penguins Mail Service, just click on the envelope icon at the top left of your screen.

To send a postcard, click on the New Message Pen with the New Message Tag.

This will open the Send to page. Here you need to select the Penguin Buddy that you want to send the Post card to. I picked Buddy Bella.

Next you will see a catalogue of available postcards, below is the pictures of the available Postcards. You can look through the different Postcards by clicking on the turned up page edges at the bottom of the folder/book. Click on the image of the postcard you want to send.

Next you will see a preview of the postcard and if you like it then click yes to send your post card. Postcards cost 10 Penguin coins to send, that’s pretty cheap!

Communicating on Club Penguin

Club Penguin has two different types of Chat for Penguins. Standard Safe Chat and Ultimate Safe Chat.

Choosing a server at Club Penguin

An Ultimate Safe Chat Server always has a little Text Bubble next to the Name of the server, such as Ice Cube and Bubblegum in the above picture.

Standard Safe Chat lets you type your own messages by clicking inside the Chat bar and then typing your message. To send your message just press the Enter key. The chat bar is at the bottom, in the middle of your screen.

How to use the type Chat feature in Club Penguin

Standard Safe Chat also offer a list of phrases that you can selected from in the chat menu. Just click on the speech bubble at the far left of your screen menu, to use the Phrase Menu.

Standard Safe Chat allows players to type their own messages to other users. All messages are  also filtered to block inappropriate words and phrases, such a penguin’s personal information.

Ultimate Safe Chat will only let you use set words and phrases, which are placed into a menu which includes

• Greetings,
• Questions and statements, as well as emotes, actions and greeting cards. When it comes to chatting, these users can only see other Ultimate Safe Chat messages.

Moderating Penguin Conversations and Behaviour.

Club Penguin constantly update their safety filter, but sometimes offensive words and phrases may get through.

Club Penguin also protects their Penguins with online Penguins staff to keep an eye on Penguin chats and activities. Their is a Moderator Shield with an M in it at the top, right corner of your screen that you can click if you feel that a Penguin’s language or behaviour needs to be reported. The Moderator screen will give you the instructions on how to Ignore or Report that Penguin to a moderator.

So, to ignore a Penguin click on the annoying Penguin to get their Penguin screen to come up,  and at the bottom of their screen you will see a number of options. The one that looks like a skull face is the ignore Penguin button.

If you want to Report a Penguin, click on the Penguin that is upsetting you and at the bottom of their screen you will see a number of options. Click the Moderator Shield button, which is the last button to the right.

After you click on the Report Button the following screen will appear.

You will then have to fill out a report about what the Penguin has done to deserve to be reported.

Club Penguin record all conversations that take place when the report is sent. Club Penguin’s Moderators then review the conversations and determine whether or not to ban a Penguin. Penguins who behave badly can be silenced or banned. Accounts can be banned for 24 hours, 72 hours or forever depending on the offence.

Club Penguin also automatically bans Penguin that say bad words. Those bans are straight away. A Penguin can also receive a ban when ever they are found breaking  Club Penguin Rules.

1. Respect other penguins – No swearing, cheating, bullying or mean behaviour toward other penguins. Disciplinary action will be taken should any one of these occur while playing.
2. Never reveal your personal information - The best way to stay safe online is to NEVER share your real name, phone number, address, email or passwords.
3. No inappropriate talk – References to drugs and alcohol related activities, and sexual, racial or otherwise inappropriate talk are not permitted.
4. No Cheating – Any use of third party programs to cheat is not allowed. Players who use any third party programs while playing risk being permanently banned.

Club Penguin works really hard to keep their Penguins happy and Safe, but it is important for all penguins to be aware of their own personal safety when online. You should never tell anyone your personal information.

• Never use your real name for your Penguins name and avoid rude or offensive names even if you think they are funny, others might take the wrong meaning from them.
• Never reveal your real name, age, address, phone number, suburb or school. Not everyone is honest, so it is better to be safe then sorry.
• Never reveal your password to anyone but your parents. If someone knows your password, they can pretend to be you, and get you into all kinds of trouble. I once told a so-called friend my password and they later used it and had me banned for swearing. I had just received my membership as a reward from my mum, and I was really excited because a new catalogue was due and a big party and she caused me to be banned for 72 hours. Since then I never tell anyone but my parents, I still don’t know what she might have been saying about me before she had me banned.
• You should also let your parents know when something bad happens, espically if someone is making you feel uncomfortable and asking you about personal stuff, like where you live.
• If you are new to Club Penguin and feel a little nervous, you should start out with Ultimate Safe Chatl That way you know you will be hanging out with other Penguins that are happy to just use the everyday conversations available in the menus and later when you feel better you can change.

Club Penguin has four “Club Penguin banners” that you can add to your own websites or blog. Located in their community pages at http://community.clubpenguin.com/banners/index.htm

To use them all you need to do is copy the source code from under the banner you would like to use. Then paste it into your blog.

I have Pasted all four of them into this Blog, so show you how they will appear.

To use them all you need to do is to either click on the picture you want or to click on the screen sizes below the picture that you want.

The screen size you choose will depend on the size of your own computer screen. They allow for either 1280×1024 and sometimes 1280×768 screen sizes.

After you click it will open that picture. You can then set it as your wallpaper by right clicking on the picture and selecting “Set as Desktop Background.”

How To Take Your Own Pictures In Club Penguin

Lately we have had a few new friends ask us how to take their own photos at Club Penguin. This is pretty easy once you know how and it can be a lot of fun, espically if you would like to make your own Club Penguin Blog.

The first thing you need to do is to log onto Club Penguin.

Log onto Club Penguin

Click on your Penguin. While your Penguins picture is open you can change your outfit to how you want to look in your picture.

Now look down at your keyboard and and you should have a row of keys that have the letter F and a number on them, at the end of these keys, there should be a key with PrtScn written on it.

Click on the PrtScn Button.

When you click the PrtScn Button it will take a picture of what ever you have on your computer screen.

Next you need to paste that picture into a document.

One of the most common programs you can use is Paint. Paint is a standard program that comes with Microsoft and is located in the Accessories of your Programs. See the image below.

Just open up the Paint Program, and then click on the Edit Button and click Paste.

• Now you should have a picture of the screen that you were looking at when you pressed the PrtScn Button.
• Next you need to select the area of the Picture that you want to keep
• At the right of the screen you will see a tool area, click on any of these buttons to deselect your Picture.
• Now click on the selection tool at the top right of the tool area. The image below shows an arrow to this tool button.
• Next you need to create a box around the area that you want to keep from your screen Picture.
• After you have selected the area to keep, click on the Edit Button and click Copy to. See the Image below.

Using Your Paint Program to make Pictures

• After you click the Copy to Button a new screen will appear for you to name your picture.
• Type in the name and click Save.
• Your Picture will then be save to the file selected. Below I selected My Pictures.

Now just close Paint and go to the folder that you saved your new picture to and have a look at your New Penguin Photo.

Their a lots of other programs you can use, We use Photoshop.

Photoshop Instructions

First I open up Photoshop and create a new blank document by clicking the File, then New. If you have just pressed your PrtScr Key the new document should automatically create a document the same size as your screen, in my case that is 1024x 768 pixels.

Next  I click on the Edit Button and then click Paste. This will paste the picture from my screen.

Now paste the picture into your new Photoshop document

Now you should have a picture of the screen you were looking at when you pressed the PrtScn Button.

• Next you need to selected the area that you want to keep by using the Rectangular Marquee Tool.
• The Rectangular Marquee Tool is the very top left Button located in the Tool Panel to the left of your picture.
• With the Rectangular Marquee Tool selected draw a rectangle around your Penguin Picture.
• Next select the Image button and then click Crop.
• The Image below shows the location of the Crop button.

• After you crop your picture, you should have a picture of your Penguin, ready to be saved for your Blog or email.
• Now you need to Save your picture for the Internet, do this by clicking on the File Button and then click Save for the Web.

Next your will see a picture of your Penguin as it will look on the internet.

Click the Save Button and Name your picture and Save it to your Documents. It will save your picture and then you will go back to your Photoshop Document. If you don’t need to make any changes just close that document and your all done.

Saving your Picture for the WEb

Now go to where you saved your picture and you will have your very own Penguin picture from Club Penguin.
